Wholesale PPE suits buyers who need volume: contractors, mines, resellers, schools of trade and groups with many sites. PPESuppliers.co.za is a free quote-request service for South Africa. Send us your bulk list and we pass it to independent wholesale PPE suppliers who quote you directly. We do not sell PPE and we never give prices. There is no charge and no obligation to accept a quote. Compare several wholesalers on the same quantities, and choose the one that can deliver on time and to specification.
What wholesalers offer
A PPE wholesaler holds large stock of common lines and sells by the carton, pallet or contract. Typical products are gloves, dust masks, glasses, ear plugs, hi-vis vests, overalls, rain suits and safety boots.
Wholesalers usually serve other businesses, so they may require a company account and a trade reference. Some sell to individuals too, while others supply only resellers. Many deliver nationally and keep branches or agents in the major industrial centres.
Wholesalers also help when a site needs a quick top-up of many lines at once. One supplier then packs and delivers a mixed pallet, instead of you placing five separate orders.
When bulk buying makes sense
Bulk buying works for items you use steadily and that do not expire quickly. Gloves, ear plugs, glasses, vests and masks are common examples. Buying in volume cuts the number of orders, and can give the buyer better supply security.
- Check shelf life on items such as filtering masks and some gloves.
- Plan storage space, because cartons take room.
- Order sizes in the right spread, not one size only.
- Keep a buffer for new starters and replacements.
Store cartons dry and out of direct sun, and rotate stock so older items are issued first.
Checking a wholesaler
Ask who the importer or maker is, and which standard each line meets. Look for SANS or EN marking, and for NRCS approval on footwear and helmets where required. Ask for test certificates and batch details. A reliable wholesaler can show that the stock is genuine and consistent between orders.
Confirm the practical points too: stock on hand, delivery time, returns for wrong sizes or faulty items, credit terms and who handles after-sales queries. Request a sample carton before a large purchase.
What affects the quote
We do not show prices. Wholesale quotes depend on quantity breaks, item grade, pack size, brand or no-name range, delivery distance and payment terms. Give the product, the standard, the sizes and the total quantity per item. Say whether you want a single drop or call-offs over several months. Include your company details if you need a trade account, and the delivery address with any access limits, such as a site with restricted receiving hours. This lets wholesalers quote accurately and avoid later changes. Also say if you need mixed-size packs or the same item in several colours, because that affects how cartons are broken down and packed.
Comparing wholesale PPE quotes
PPE prices move with fabric, leather and rubber costs, the exchange rate and stock levels. When quotes arrive, check:
- Exact item and standard: the product, the standard or rating it is certified to, and an NRCS letter of authority where one is required.
- Sizes and quantities: price per unit or per pack, size runs available and any minimum order.
- Stock or lead time: ex stock, or imported or made to order, and how long that takes.
- Delivery and VAT: delivery to site, branding costs, whether VAT is included and how long the price holds.
What to include in your request
- List each product with total quantity and size spread.
- State the standard or rating each line must meet.
- Say if you want one delivery or call-offs over time.
- Mention if you need a trade account or credit terms.
- Add the delivery address and any receiving-hour limits.
